Rest and Recharge at Doane Rest

Since 2016, we have directed this ministry retreat center, providing rest to thousands of missionaries and pastors.

Retreat Center Ministry

Comfortable Accommodations

Guests stay in our serene cottages, designed to provide a restful environment for reflection and relaxation.

Comforts of Home

From the handmade quilts on beds, to the fireplaces, to the hot and cold running water, we try to make our guests feel at home

Christian Fellowship

Many of our guests simply enjoy visiting together, whether through prayer or playing a board game.

Caring for the Body

We all have different ministries, but each missionary is important to the body of Christ. We help to keep missionaries serving.

Why Rest?

Out of all missionaries who commit to serve the Lord as career missionaries, 40% leave the ministry early. In the US even, almost 25% of all pastors have considered leaving the ministry. Why? For many, it's because they are tired. Look at Christ, who we as Christians try to model. He rested. Shouldn't those in ministry rest too?

Why Choose Us?

We are the only ministry providing rest exclusively to the whole body of Christ in the Philippines.

What Our Guests Say

We want to say thank you for your refreshingly generous hospitality! Being here was filling for the soul.

Abundant Midwives

We thank God for this place and you. We had such a wonderful and blessed time there. Praying that God would continue to pour out His blessings on you and this place.

The Eppas

We the BBSI faculty and the staff would like to say Thank You for your beautiful place. We enjoyed it. “Thank you” God bless!

Other Ministries We Do

Teacher Training

Teacher Training

As teachers ourselves (el. ed. and Eng. ed.), and understanding that children spend more waking hours at school (rather than home or church), we see the importance of teaching schoolteachers how to teach better. Through training these teachers, we can multiply our efforts.

Quilting Workshops

Quilting Workshops

We believe God made many of us to enjoy making beautiful things with our hands. Through the craft of quilting, Evanie holds workshops both at our ministry location and throughout the Philippines, using her "Hands for Worship" to share the peace of the Gospel.

VBS Outreaches

Vacation Bible School

Summer is an important time in the life of a child, and VBS is a great way to reach children for Christ. Evanie has a gift for training VBS teachers, and Jonathan enjoys organization and planning. Together, we enjoy using VBS to reach children for Christ.

Holiday Meals

Holiday Meals

Food is one thing that reminds us all of home, and good food enjoyed with Christian fellowship is always a blessing. Every 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas cookie night, Evanie works hard to minister to our guests and local Christian brethren through her gifts of cooking and baking.

Children's Camp (coming soon)

Summer Camp

Pray with us as we start a new ministry, Camp Glory. This will be a summer camp with the mission of "Leading children to personally know their Creator through the glory of creation."
