About Jonathan
Growing up as a young child in Alabama and Jacksonville, Florida, Jonathan had no idea why God moved him to Montana as a teenager. Now, living in Baguio, Philippines (PH), the cowboy and country music capital of the PH, Jonathan understands a little more that God does have a plan and He often does more than we could ever dream. He alone gets the glory for everything He does in our lives.
Jonathan gets to use his computer science degree of 2012 and his English education master's degree of 2014 regularly.
Jonathan enjoys talking tech, sci-fi, running, and spending time with his beautiful wife and 3 kids.
About Evanie
Growing up in Baguio, the granddaughter of a pastor on one side and a former pagan priest on the other, Evanie is grateful for missionaries who brought the Gospel to her people before. When she was a teen, her family immigrated to Jacksonville, Florida, where she thought she'd become a nurse like her parents. God instead directed her to teach and back to the PH, even after her parents worked so hard to bring her to the US.
Evanie graduated with a degree in elementary education in 2014.
Evanie enjoys all things crafting. Hobby Lobby is her favorite store. She quilts, homeschools her children, and bakes an amazing pecan pie.

2008
The Call to Serve
We met at Bible college as chapel buddies, meeting for meals before later bonding over missions.
2014
Going to the Philippines
Entirely by faith, we traveled to the Philippines to minister in a small Christian school.
2016
Moving Ministries
When we thought God was closing the PH door, God opened the door to minister at Doane Rest.
2017
Joining ABWE
After working with the ABWE team and the organization, we traveled to PA, USA, and joined ABWE.
2024
Initial Fundraising
We finished raising our needed monthly support, while on the field because of PLBC Jax.
2025
Bigger Opportunity
After directing Doane Rest for 10+ years, we now have the desire to start a children's camp in the PH.
About ABWE
ABWE was born out of an indomitable passion for sharing the gospel.
In 1927, when long-term missionary Dr. Raphael Thomas’ mission board told him to stop preaching the gospel and focus only on medicine in the Philippines, he boldly refused and resigned after 23 years of loyal service. He didn’t know what he would do next, but God was planning something amazing.
Our Doctrine
As ABWE missionaries, we adhere to the Doctrinal Statement of ABWE. Additionally, for clarification regarding Bible versions, we do not feel that any one Bible version is the only right Bible to use. We have grown up with the KJV, memorizing much of the Bible in this version, but for ease of understanding for non-native English speakers in cross-cultural situations, we do use different Bible versions. If asked to share in your church, we would of course use whatever Bible version you prefer.
